Where to find Shops in South Pembrokeshire?
Villages
Pembrokeshire is a rural county. There are individual shops in some of the villages such as the Spar and Post Office in Lamphey and Manorbier, and farm shops at Milton and Yerbeston which are open all year round. Some shops have seasonal opening such as the small shop at Freshwater Bay Holiday Village.
Fresh seasonal produce can also be purchased from some nurseries such as strawberries and asparagus from Springfields in Manorbier and vegetables from Mencap Gardens, Stackpole.
Small Towns
The towns of Pembroke, Narberth and Tenby have a selection of shops including small supermarkets, gift shops, craft shops, homewares, antiques, clothes shops, surf shops, hardware and food shops. They also have banks, cafes, restaurants, pubs and takeaways. A feature of these small towns is that they are not dominated by the national chain shops you find in most shopping centres but have a high proportion of individually owned shops, so there are some interesting gems to discover.
Larger Towns
For larger supermarkets, chain stores, white goods and DIY stores you will need to visit Pembroke Dock, Haverfordwest or Carmarthen (out of the county). These larger shopping centres also have some good individual shops including the family owned Ocky White department store in Haverfordwest.
Local Produce
Local produce is available from farmer's markets regularly held in Pembroke, Haverfordwest and Fishguard. Pembrokeshire Produce Direct delivers fresh local food.
Restricted Traffic
Bridge Street in Haverfordwest is pedestrianised and Tenby town centre has restricted traffic in the summer. This, together with the historic buildings and street pattern, enhances the shopping experience.
