Barafundle Bay

Barafundle Bay has been voted the most beautiful beach in Pembrokeshire and one of the top 10 beaches in the world. It is also good for swimming. The shortest way to get there is to park at the National Trust car park at Stackpole Quay and walk from there. There are toilets and a tea shop at Stackpole Quay.

Freshwater West

Freshwater West is popular with surfers, kite surfers and walkers. It also has beautiful sunsets. It is a wild beach backed by a large expanse of sand dunes. There are rip currents so this beach is not suitable for recreational swimming.

In 2009 Freshwater West was used as a film set for two films, Ridley Scott's Robin Hood film 'Nottingham' and 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'. A temporary shell cottage was built in the sand dunes for the Harry Potter film. Below are short film clips of the filming of Nottingham, made by my friend Paul, which he has kindly allowed me to include.
